What is Family Ministry and who is it for?
Let us tell you about Family Ministry…
Thank you for taking the time to find out about Family Ministry at Good Shepherd Church. The transition to family ministry means that some things that we have grown accustomed to are changing. Change is a scary word sometimes, but we believe that change, in this case, is necessary and change is good.
At Good Shepherd, we feel that the best place for spiritual formation is at home. We heard from several of you through the surveys and the town hall meeting that spiritual formation at home is challenging for numerous reasons. We want to be a guide and resource for you as you take steps to lead your family to Jesus.
The most influential people in your life are your family. Kids will take their cues from their parents. So for these reasons, we want you to be the teachers and spiritual leaders to those in your family. We understand that this may sound difficult, but we plan to provide resources and ideas to every stage of spiritual development.
Another thing we heard many times is, "I don't have a family," or "my kids have grown." Being single or an empty nester doesn't exclude you from Family Ministry and spiritual growth. We have a plan for you as well.
